Terms of service
Last updated 24 August 2026.
Plain language, because nobody should need a solicitor to make a memorial page. These terms are a summary of how the service works and what each of us is responsible for.
1. What we provide
RememberedBy hosts celebration of life pages: a person's story, photographs, videos, service details and a guest book, together with tools to make a tribute video from them. We provide the service as it is, and we do our best to keep it available and fast.
2. Your account
You need to be 13 or older to hold an account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into it.
3. Your content stays yours
The photographs, videos and words you upload remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service — to store your files, show them to the people you have chosen, and process them into thumbnails and tribute videos. We do not sell your content, use it to train anything, or show it to anyone your privacy setting excludes.
4. What you must not upload
Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, anything that impersonates a real person, anything created to harass someone, or anything unlawful. Do not create a page for a living person as though they had died. Music you upload for a tribute video must be music you are allowed to use — a commercial recording can get the finished video taken down if you share it.
We may remove content that breaks these rules, and in serious or repeated cases close an account. Where we can, we will tell you why first.
5. Moderation
Page owners moderate their own guest books and contributions. We step in only when something is reported to us and breaks the rules above. Anyone can report a public page using the link at the bottom of it.
6. Plans and payment
Free pages are free, permanently, within the free limits. Premium is billed yearly and renews until you cancel. Forever is a single payment. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.
We refund any payment within 30 days of it being taken, on request, with no questions asked. Cancel whenever you like from your billing page.
7. What happens if you stop paying
Your memorial is not deleted. A lapsed Premium page becomes read-only at free limits — everything already on it stays visible exactly as it is, and returns to normal when you renew. We will not delete a memorial for non-payment.
8. Getting your files back
Any page owner can download the entire memorial — every photograph and video at original quality, plus the written content in a plain readable format — as a single archive, at any time and on any plan. If we ever had to close the service, we would give reasonable notice so everyone could do exactly that.
9. Deletion
A page owner can delete their memorial permanently at any time. Deletion removes the page, its media and its guest book from our systems; backups age out on their normal cycle. It cannot be undone.
10. Liability
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable — the export in section 8 exists for this reason.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email you before it takes effect. The promises in sections 7 and 8 are the ones we consider binding on our side, and we will not weaken them.
12. Contact
Write to us with any question about these terms.
